Why don't cartoon men have AIDS?

Because they are just "actors" of the new social TV spot of Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation. In the real life, injecting drug usage is the shortest way to AIDS. New informational campaign of "ANTIAIDS" Foundation is about it. The campaign, directed to the prophylaxis of the new cases of HIV via drug use, started on the national and regional TV channels in July 17, 2006.

The animation "Walking little men" was created by request of the ANTIAIDS Foundation by the advertising agency Provid/BBDO and made by Pack Shot Boys and Abyss Lights Studio. This cartoon-loke TV spot continues world tendency in social creative - to talk about serious problem with irony. It gives more chances to take attention of youth target group and to change their attitude to social problems. This is the first campaign of "ANTIAIDS" Foundation which raises the subject of HIV/AIDS spread via drug use and the first large campaign in Ukraine on the subject - so far, the main attention in media campaigns was concentrated on safe sex and tolerant attitude towards people, living with HIV/AIDS.

More than 60% of all registered HIV cases in Ukraine - are people who are taking drugs or have had experience of taking drugs. On estimated data of Ministry of Healthcare, Ukrainian AIDS center and World Healthcare Organization (2006) more than 300 thousand people in Ukraine use drugs. 40 % of them might live with HIV/AIDS. Most of drug users have no idea about their HIV status and continue to lead usual way of life and spreading HIV. The sexual partners of injecting drug users are the "bridge" groups in Ukraine now. On the data of special poll of injecting drug users, which took place in 2004, there are about 500 thousand people in that group.
