Special Celebration for Special Kids

On December 20, 2018, almost 150 children with special needs, that are under the care of social services, charitable foundations and NGOs, participated in the New Year's celebration on Sofia Square. For the fourth year in a row, the Kyiv City State Administration holds the winter celebrations, with the support of the Elena Pinchuk Foundation and Coca-Cola Ukraine.

The event started at 11 am in the most charming place of Kyiv in winter - in a Christmas village on Sofia Square. The children watched the main tree of the country with admiration, visited the New Year's Fair, enjoyed sweet treats and took a photo to remember.

After the Christmas village, kids went to the Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theater to watch the fairy tale "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". But in the hall of the theater another surprise was waiting for the kids: they were met by St. Nicholas and merry mimes - volunteers from the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Variety and Circus Arts. They became kids’ guardians in the fairytale world of the theater and handed them gifts from donors.

The inclusion of children with special needs has been and remains one of the priorities of the Elena Pinchuk Foundation and the Coca-Cola Foundation. In the near future, Christmas events for children will also be held at the veteran's service center Veteran Hub, and for HIV-positive children - in the city center at the Golden Gate.
