Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation in partnership with Ukrainian Google office has launched a new social service to protect the youth from AIDS
Each point is not only marked on the map, but is accompanied with detailed information including the address, contact phone number and, if possible, working hours of the HIV-testing center. Testing map is accompanied with the detailed list of Q&A, which answers all questions the one wishing to get HIV test might have. When will the results of the test be ready? Is it possible to get information about the test results by phone or by e-mail? Does HIV-testing is free? How does the testing have to go and what is the right way to interpret results? What should be done if you get a positive or a negative result?
Most of the centers in the project database are the cabinets of anonymous HIV-testing, where one can get HIV test without disclosing the name and get the testing results using the code received when your blood sample was taken for testing. For the first time 173 HIV-testing centers, where quick tests are used, were also included in the database. This is a reliable and trustworthy way of examination with the help of two tests from different producers, which let considerably simplify and hasten HIV-testing. The results of testing available in 15-20 minutes as this kind of testing doesn’t require special laboratory equipment application.
All the information about the project will be available not only to Internet-users, but also to people addressing to All-Ukrainian HIV/AIDS hot-line – 0 800 500 4510.
Condomats map helps to define the closest location of condomats to the consumer in Kiev, Odessa, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kryvyi Rih, Chernihiv, Rivne, Simferopol and of course in resort towns such as Sevastopol, Yalta, Hurzuf, Alushta and Berdiansk (in Zaporizka region). There is, for example, in the list of answers and questions an explanation on how the condomats operate, whether it gives a change and how to deal with other problems. The main advantage of condomats is anonymity and time since the salesperson is not involved in the purchase process and it only takes minute without standing in a queue.
The project will undergo the major development in the coming future – map navigation will be improved and mobile version of the service will be launched.
Source data for this project were given by Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation partners – Substance Abuse and AIDS Prevention Foundation, International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine and Clinton Foundation, which with the financial support of Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation realizes a project in Ukraine, aimed in particular at improving access to testing by means of quick tests. Information on most of the condom machines was given by Swiss company MedPack Swiss AG. It has built in Ukraine the biggest and the most modern plant of condoms production. The main MedPack Swiss AG brand is Swiss condoms Dolphi (www.dolphi.com.ua).
