The partnership with Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI)
After sharing the information about Ukraine and a real need of people living with HIV/AIDS the representative of Clinton HIV/AIDS Procurement Consortium has visited Ukraine on the official invitation of Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation. On September 15th the Minister of health of Ukraine Andrey Pidaev has signed the Memorandum of understanding with Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative and Ukraine become the member of Clinton HIV/AIDS Procurement Consortium.
One of the main directions of the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative founded by the 42nd USA President is rendering the assistance to the most effected by the epidemic countries by reducing the costs of treatment and diagnostics of HIV-positive and people who have AIDS. Ukraine now can obtain 60% discount on ARV-treatments vitally necessary for thousands people and 80% discount on laboratory equipment owing to the partnership with Clinton Initiative.
The prices available for Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative member countries are made as the result of negotiations with the leading ARV-treatment merchants about co-ordination and planning of their delivery worldwide. For outstanding merchants this provides new distribution channels and market forecasting. For the consumers this provides special pricing inaccessible under other conditions. As the results of the efforts made the prices for the most spread HIV/AIDS treatment cut down at 40-60% from their cost on the world market. The tests costs for virus determining falls on 80% meanwhile CD4 test decreases in 5-8 times. These are the most necessary tests for providing and controlling efficient ARV therapy.
